Oliver turns ONE!!

We celebrated Oliver's First Birthday with ice cream sundaes (complete with homemade caramel, chocolate, marshmallow, peanut butter and strawberry sauces...they were really good)  We had a good turn-out & lots of fun (and a lot of kids running around...thank goodness for basements) :)

He was a little tentative with the cake at first, of course he was just serenaded with a very LOUD song of "happy birthday dear Oliver".  He carefully stuck one finger into the frosting where the candle came out & tasted it...after that he had no problems digging in :)  We had quite the mess to clean up, as it should be on a first birthday :)

Oliver now:

*Says: Ma, Dad, No, Ya, Uh Oh, Done, Guys(referring to his siblings), Hi, Hello...I think there may be a few more...

*Gets super excited, waves his hands in the air, claps & yells "dad!" EVERY time Elias comes home.

*Loves his brothers and sisters, will go looking for them at the gates to the stairs and yells "guys!"

*Dances ALL THE TIME...its super cute & happens anytime music comes on.

*Loves all food, cheese being one of his most favorites.

*He has a "spot" on the couch he likes to sit.  To do so he must take the back cushion off, if he can't get it he'll "grunt" at you until you help him.  He likes to sit in the space between the bottom cushion and the back of the couch (I need to get a picture of this)

*Loves to look at toys at Target, yep. He knows where they are and starts pointing when we get close :)

*Loves to talk on the phone, but usually when no one is on the other end :)

* Sleeps most of the night, only waking up once at midnight, which isn't so bad since I'm usually up then anyway.  My goal is to get him sleeping through the night by the next update.

*Makes car noises and pushes cars around.

*Walks more than he crawls & can stand up without pulling himself up (that actually happened a couple days after turning one)

He's growing up...sigh...I can't believe how fast this year has gone by...
