I didn't have time to take before pictures...her room was such a mess. I scoured all our files for a picture of her room with no luck...for one good reason, it was UG..ly. But it's all better now :)
The "entry way" to here room (her closet juts out), a place to hang book bags and coats...
in her room, to the right
Her desk is a yard sale find--re-purposed vanity...one of those run of the mill--oak looking things. I replaced the mirror with cork and painted the frame green...then of course, the rest white, replaced the drawer pull with a green gros grain ribbon pull. Topped it off with mason jars wrapped with coordinating paper to hold her pencils, etc. and a picture of her on her baptism day.
Her bed was dark, mahogany yuckiness (also a yard sale find) after a good sanding and about 47 (or so it seemed) coats of paint it's now a much better white :) Pillows were all slip-covered by me and above her bed are prints from the book "The Art of Holly Hobbie" in some old frames I had laying around and painted blue.
Her curtains (made by me) & the butterfly mobile (also made by me) :) I also painted her night stand which was horrible whiteish wood grain (?) with gold trim
Her room to the left...
The bunting is a fused plastic bag one I made for her 8th birthday party decorations....I found the print on etsy & I decorated the paper mache H. Her bookcase was a ugly yellowish (maybe pine) stain.
I painted a peg board so as Curtis puts it "she can be organized" (that's my OCD boy for you)
We added a mirror to her dresser (all of her furniture is second hand and refurbished by me)
We LOVE it...let us know what you think :)
More birthday stuff to come :)
